Create a systematic approach. Start at your front door and work your way through every area of your store. Use a checklist, but don't rely on it blindly. Look up, down, and behind things. Check areas that usually get ignored - storage rooms, break areas, outside spaces.
Equipment checks need special attention. Don't just verify that fire extinguishers are present - check their pressure gauges and inspection tags. Test emergency lights. Inspect electrical cords. Make sure safety guards are in place on equipment.
